Troubleshoot Craftsman Garage Door Opener Flashing Light

T his is a pretty uncommon problem but one that can happen after you ve first installed your garage door opener.

Loosen the wing nut holding up the photo eye and adjust them until both sensors are properly aligned. To fix this issue first locate the two photo eyes attached to your garage door and clean the lens using a soft microfiber cloth. Realign the safety reversing sensors so that the led on the receiving sensor glows steadily. If the garage door has been repeatedly used this may have tripped the overload protector in the motor.

Inspect sensor wires for a disconnected or cut wire s. Once you see the double flash press the control button on the remote control. It s important to get this switch at just the right distance from the motor so that the door is able to close all the way but the motor also knows to stop running. Wait for 15 minutes for the overload protector to reset before operating the garage door opener again.
